President Trump plans to leave his New Jersey golf club this weekend and take a brief retreat with administration principals at Camp David on Sunday.
Mr. Trump will return to the White House on Monday.
A White House official described the stop at Camp David as “what will become a regular off-campus retreat of principals attended by the president and vice president.”
“They will meet on a number of issues and topics,” the official said.
Mr. Trump arrived in Bedminster, New Jersey, late Friday and was scheduled to attend a UFC fight in Newark on Saturday night.
The White House didn’t say what Mr. Trump will discuss with his team, but multiple issues are in play, including his signature bill before the Senate and trade talks with China.
Mr. Trump is negotiating with Iran over its nuclear ambitions, and he’s openly feuding with Elon Musk, the billionaire who led the Department of Government Efficiency.
Camp David is a presidential retreat in Catoctin Mountain Park near Thurmont, Maryland. It’s been used by every president since Franklin D. Roosevelt.
The compound features a presidential cabin and offices, meeting rooms and recreational facilities.
