President Trump dined with an old nemesis, comedian Bill Maher, on Monday as a favor to musician Kid Rock.

Joining the trio at the White House was UFC head honcho Dana White, who like Kid Rock is a Trump fan.

The rock star thought things went well.

“Everyone was so surprised, so pleasant. The most shocking thing to me was, Bill’s obviously a very big liberal, been very hard on the president, but he’s donated a lot of money to other politicians — Biden, Clinton, Obama — [yet] he had never been to the White House, and the president was so gracious,” Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, said on “Fox & Friends” Tuesday.

For his part, the president was skeptical but intrigued heading into the meeting.

“I got a call from a very good guy, and friend of mine, Kid Rock, asking me whether or not it would be possible for me to meet, in the White House, with Bill Maher, a man who has been unjustifiably critical of anything, or anyone, TRUMP. I really didn’t like the idea much, and don’t like it much now, but thought it would be interesting. … In any event, I’m doing a favor for a friend,” Mr. Trump wrote on Truth Social Sunday.

Mr. Maher, meanwhile, theorized that he and the president could meet halfway on certain subjects.

The HBO “Real Time” host told former CNN anchor Chris Cuomo on the latter’s podcast that “two guys who’ve been at each other for so long, I mean — it’s kind of a Nixon to China thing. … I feel like I have the credentials, but they also respect me because I’m honest about the woke train to crazy town and I don’t shrink from that.”

Kid Rock disclosed that Mr. Trump took his guests to the private residential area in the White House and that they discussed the border, social issues and foreign affairs.

“The president was asking [Mr. Maher] what he thought about policy going on with Iran and Israel and things. It just blew my mind. I was very proud,” Kid Rock said, adding that “when you get face-to-face, maybe we can have a little more civility in this country and try to bring people together. That was my whole intention.”
