The House Democrats were less impressed and viewed the bill as a campaign liability for their rivals in next year’s elections.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee announced its first national digital ad buy of the 2026 cycle. The four-figure digital ad buy, which begins this week on Meta, slams vulnerable House Republicans for their ‘YES’ vote on the “Big, Ugly Bill and the havoc it will wreak on America’s rural hospitals, threatening lifesaving care.”

The Democratic National Committee describes the new law as “Donald Trump’s disastrous budget bill.”

The DNC said that just days after Mr. Trump signed the bill, it is “already devastating communities in red and blue states alike — as food banks, rural hospitals, and nursing homes are already bracing for the devastating effects of this bill to take place.”

“Before passing the largest cuts to food assistance and health care in American history, Republicans told their constituents to ‘get over it’ and that ‘we are all going to die.’”
