Rap icon Snoop Dogg is facing backlash over his show of support for President Trump.

His social media following has fallen dramatically since his Jan. 17 performance at the Crypto Ball during the president’s celebratory pre-inauguration weekend.

As of Monday, Snoop has lost 571,800 followers on Instagram, averaging nearly 50,000 per day. On X, he has seen a decline of nearly 18,000 followers.

His support of Mr. Trump has surprised many, given his outspoken criticism of the president during his first term. Snoop famously chastised Blacks who supported Mr. Trump at the time and ignited outrage with a 2017 music video portraying him firing a toy gun at a Trump-like clown figure.

The “Gin and Juice” rapper addressed the criticism Sunday during an Instagram Live session. “It’s Sunday man, I got gospel in my heart right now,” he said.

“For all that hate, I’m going to answer with love. Y’all can’t hate enough on me. I love too much,” he said. “Get your life right, stop worrying about mine. I’m cool, I’m together. Still a Black man, still 100% Black.”

Former fans took to Reddit to rejoice in Snoop’s loss of followers. “This needs to happen to every single celebrity and business that licks Trump’s boot. It should be an automatic career killer,” one posted.

“I’m gonna start side-eyeing anyone who works with him now, he supported Trump vocally a while ago before all this so he was already on my s—- list. With all of this everyone knows what he supports now, if people choose to work with him then to me that means they agree or they don’t care and both are equally just as bad,” another posted.
