Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said Wednesday the notion that he is a conspiracy theorist has been proven false, pointing to findings or studies that back him up.

Mr. Kennedy, whom President Trump selected to lead the Department of Health and Human Services, said he was right to say that COVID-19 shots would not thwart transmission and his early warnings about red dye No. 3 were validated by the Food and Drug Administration’s decision to ban it under the Biden administration.

He pointed to an extensive study that found high levels of fluoride can be correlated with lower IQ in children, saying it validates his push to get towns to eliminate the mineral from drinking water supplies.

“I could go on for a full week,” Mr. Kennedy said.

He was pushing back on Democrats who said he embraced quack science, particularly on vaccines.

The nominee said he supported Mr. Trump’s efforts to develop the COVID-19 vaccine under Operation Warp Speed but noted that Mr. Trump also focused on therapeutics and resisted long-term shutdowns.

He said the Biden administration was focused too narrowly on the COVID-19 shots.
