The president of El Salvador and the prime minister of Italy will make separate visits to the White House next week.

President Trump will welcome El Salvador President Nayib Bukele to the White House for a working visit, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Tuesday.

The two leaders will discuss the partnership of using El Salvador’s mega-prison for deported members of the Tren de Aragua and MS-13 gangs.

Over 200 alleged gang members have been sent to El Salvador.

She said the two leaders will discuss how El Salvador’s cooperation with the United States has become a model for others to work with this administration.

Tariffs will top the agenda when Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni visits the White House.

Mr. Trump and Ms. Meloni have had a good relationship, but Italy was not spared from the Trump tariff plan, getting a general 20% tariff on its goods, the same as other European Union countries.

She said the tariffs were “wrong” but said she would work to avoid a “trade war.”
