Hunter Biden claimed that President Biden was taking the powerful sleeping medicine Ambien before the disastrous debate performance that led to his withdrawal from the presidential race last year.

Hunter Biden said he knows “exactly what happened in that debate,” including the fact that his father has been flying around the world.

“He is 81 years old. He is tried as [expletive],” Hunter Biden said in an interview with @Channel5iveNews. “They give him Ambien to be able to sleep. He gets up on stage and he looks like he is a deer in head lights, and it feeds into every [expletive] story that anybody wants to tell.”

The elder Mr. Biden pulled the plug on his presidential campaign after the debate with President Trump in Atlanta, which added to doubts about his fitness for the job months before the election.

Mr. Biden then endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, who fell short against Mr. Trump. Mr. Biden has since been treated as a political pariah by large swaths of the party that say his decision to seek a second term led to Mr. Trump’s victory.

One of Mr. Biden’s final acts as president was granting a full and unconditional pardon to Hunter Biden after vowing for months not to do so. Hunter Biden had a federal conviction for illegally buying a gun and for tax evasion.

In the fiery interview, Hunter Biden lashed out at Democrats and political pundits who have done a lot of Monday morning quarterbacking in the wake of the 2024 election.

He mocked CNN’s Jake Tapper for co-authoring a book with Alex Thompson centered on the idea that the Biden White House was trying to cover up the president’s mental decline.

“What’s the conspiracy, that Joe Biden got old?” he said. “Yeah, he got old. He got old before our eyes.”

Hunter Biden chastised the Pod Save America hosts — ex-Obama aides Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, Dan Pfeiffer, and Tommy Vietor — as “four white millionaires that are dining out on their association with Barack Obama from 16 years ago, living in [expletive] Beverly Hill, telling us what Black voters in South Carolina really want.”

He also laughed at the idea that former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel could run for president, and that former Obama adviser David Axelrod would run the campaign.

“It’s like, oh boy, there is the answer, there is the [expletive] answer,” Hunter Biden said. “Geniuses all.”
