Three people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman went into cardiac arrest and died.

Police were called by paramedics at 10.25pm on Tuesday after the woman collapsed at a house on Lynmouth Close, Biddulph, North Staffordshire.

Staffordshire Police confirmed she was pronounced dead at the scene, sparking the murder investigation.

Two men, aged 30 and 32, and a 23-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody.

Police remain at the scene of the incident as detectives this morning launched their murder probe into the death.

Police were called by paramedics at 10.25pm on Tuesday after the woman collapsed at a house on Lynmouth Close (pictured), Biddulph, North Staffordshire

The alarm was raised on Tuesday evening following reports of a 'medical emergency' but paramedics said there was little that could be done to save the woman, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

A spokesman for the force told Stoke-on-Trent Live: 'Two ambulances attended. On arrival we discovered one patient, a woman. Sadly, it quickly became apparent nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed dead at the scene.'

Police were initially scrambled after receiving reports of a woman in cardiac arrest at a home in the street.

A police spokeswoman added: 'Sadly, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Two men, aged 30 and 32, and a woman, aged 23, all from Biddulph, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody this morning.'

Police are now appealing for help. Witnesses should call the force 101, quoting incident number 711 of April 2. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
