A Florida man who has been eating raw chicken for 25 days claims he has not yet fallen ill, despite the serious health risks.

John, who has been documenting his journey on the Instagram account Raw Chicken Experiment, claims he will continue eating raw chicken every day 'until I get a tummy ache'.

He appeared on Tuesday's The Kyle and Jackie O Show to talk about his bizarre experiment.

'I figure if I get a tummy ache, I'll probably get extremely scared and stop the experiment because it can get a little gnarly, is what I've heard,' John told hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie 'O' Henderson.

'Why aren't you dead?' asked an amazed Kyle.

'I think I've done a lot of terrible things to my body throughout my life,' John replied.

Jackie, who said she was 'grossed out' by the videos of John eating raw chicken breast, asked what it was like to eat.

'It kind of reminds me of a scallop. But when we're getting into the thighs and wings and stuff like that the skin is a bit difficult to get through,' the Floridian said.

Kyle explained that John also likes to blend up the raw meat, throwing raw eggs, lettuce and seasoning in a food processor before drinking the concoction, to which Jackie said she would be sick from that alone, even without the risk of salmonella.

Salmonella is a bacteria often associated with raw chicken, but can also be contracted through beef, milk, seafood and eggs.

Kyle and Jackie's producer Bruno then came up with a hypothesis as to why John had not suffered any illness from his shocking dietary choices.

'I used to work in Japan, and you know, eating sashimi-style chicken is pretty common over there... they breed salmonella-resistant chickens, so just wondering if could it be a case of you eating salmonella-resistant chickens or are you just getting them from any old place?' he questioned.

'I'm eating chickens from a local farm,' John replied, suggesting that unsanitary factory farming might have more life-threatening bacteria than free range.

The hosts then asked if eating raw chicken in a sashimi-style with soy sauce and wasabi was similar to the fish version.

'I think fish tastes better, it has more of a flavour. Chicken just doesn't have much going on, but if you did have soy sauce and wasabi it would be pretty decent,' John said.

Finishing up the segment, the hosts asked how long John will be conducting this bizarre experiment.

'I'm thinking 100 days or until I'm hospitalised,' he said.
