Deadly winter storm grips large parts of the US

A powerful winter storm has swept across the United States, with heavy snow, ice and dangerously low temperatures affecting millions.

Seven people are reported to have died and hundreds of thousands of homes have been left without power

At least two people died of hypothermia in Louisiana, and other deaths linked to the storm have been reported in Texas, Tennessee and Kansas.
